There might be countless recipes for Chicken Noodle Soup out there, but this is hands down the best we've ever tried. And the best part? It is SO easy to make! If you have a cold or just need some comfort food on a cold day, this is the best soup you could make!

  • 1.5 quarts water
  • 2.5-3 lb uncooked chicken cut into small pieces
  • 4 carrots, bias cut about 2 cups
  • 3 ribs celery, cut to 1 inch pieces about 1 cup
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1/4 c chopped parsley
  • 1 T salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 3/4 c cold water
  1. In Dutch oven or large saucepan, combine water, chicken, carrots, celery, onion, parsley, salt and pepper.

  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for one hour. Remove chicken.

  3. Bring broth to a boil again. Stir in noodles. Boil uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes.

  4. Whisk together flour and cold water. Add flour/water mixture and chicken back to the pot. Simmer, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes, or until broth is slightly thickened.
